World - FIFA Club World Cup
Prediction :
Both teams to score
History will be made at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday as English Premier League side Chelsea clashes with Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC in a Group D encounter for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. This will be the first-ever match between English and USA clubs in the history of this competition. Our prediction for this match is that both the Blues and the Black & Gold are set to score goals.
Flamengo and Esperance de Tunis are the other teams in this group from which the top two teams will progress to the knockout stage. Chelsea are making their third appearance in this competition, having won in 2021. The Blues have won the UEFA Conference League and are assembling some of the biggest names, with money not a problem for their owner, incidentally an American businessman!
Contrastingly, LAFC are debutants in this tournament after winning the play-off match against Club America. The advantage for the MLS side is that this tournament comes in the midst of their domestic campaign. Is that enough for Los Angeles to surprise Chelsea, or will it be business as usual for the Blues? Read further for our recommendations.

Formation : 4 - 2 - 3 - 1
Formation : 4 - 3 - 3
Chelsea had enough time and space in their squad to add new signings Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr to their touring party. It will be interesting to see if any of these players get a chance to start, although Delap could make the cut.
Wesley Fofana is out with a hamstring injury, to be one of the major notable absences for Chelsea. Joao Felix has been encouraged to find a new club in the summer, while Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi are also left out. They are likely to play in the usual 4-2-3-1 formation, with new signing Delap likely to be the sole striker.
Palmer had 15 goals and 11 assists last season in all competitions.
That makes him the pivot for the Chelsea side, while LAFC's strike force is set to be headlined by former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud! He has two goals and two assists each in his last four club games and will be the one to watch out for.
Giroud is set to play in the middle of the 4-3-3 formation, although he may be used as a substitute. It’s the form of left forward Denis Bouanga that could trouble Chelsea, as he scored nine goals and assisted six more in his last ten club games. LAFC will be without Cengiz Under, Lorenzo Dellavalle, and Odin Holm for this encounter.
Chelsea have shown in the just-concluded Premier League season that their young side can entertain. There’s already so much talent in the Chelsea team, and they are likely to benefit from the recent form of their strikers. Los Angeles FC are no mugs in terms of goal scoring, as they come here with rich form behind them. They have scored at least twice in each of their last ten matches, and don’t be surprised if they come blazing off the blocks and trouble Chelsea. Our Chelsea vs Los Angeles FC prediction is both teams to score.
Chelsea to win and BTTS: Yes
Chelsea have a lot of quality in their ranks, and even if they bench a few regulars, there’s so much talent on the bench to compensate. If they show the same hunger that they showed late in the season to finish fourth in the Premier League and win the UEFA Conference League. With goals from both teams looking more likely, combine it with a Chelsea win for an interesting pick.
