Two sides in need of a positive result in the MLS will meet at Dick’s Sporting Good Park on Wednesday night (ET) when the Colorado Rapids play host to Los Angeles Galaxy. The Rapids are in ninth place in the Western Conference, while the Galaxy are bottom of the conference standings. Let’s get into the match prediction.
After a very positive start to the season, the Colorado Rapids have endured a nosedive in results of late, now hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat in the US top flight.
The Rapids were beaten 1-0 by Orlando City last week and have now lost six of their last eight league matches, while conceding two or more goals in five games during that period.
The hosts have also lost and failed to score in their last two home games. They have not lost three home games on the bounce since between October-November last year.
Meanwhile, after winning the MLS Cup last year, LA Galaxy have plummeted this season, currently the bottom club across the entire league with just eight points from 18 games.
However, Los Galacticos have earned half their points tally this season in their last two matches, beating Salt Lake 2-0 at home before playing to a 3-3 draw away to St Louis.
That victory over RSL is the only one the Galaxy have managed this season. They have conceded 39 goals - the most in the MLS.
