Finland U21 will hope for a better defensive performance when they take on Ukraine U21 in Round 2 of the UEFA U21 Championship. The two are battling in Group B, Finland starting in the second spot and Ukraine at the bottom. We have a prediction for this match below.
Finland will be beating themselves up for failing to secure three points in their opening match against the Netherlands. They took a commanding 2-0 lead, only to let two points slip from their grip as the match ended 2-2.
The Finns will particularly be sad that the equalizer came deep in stoppage time. There’s a happy angle to it all, though: Finland playing in only their second Euro finals and securing their first point ever.
Ukraine, semi-finalists in the last edition, also had a late collapse in their opening game and are now staring at an early exit. They led Denmark 1-0 at the break and 2-1 at 80 minutes.
However, in a twist of events, they would concede twice to see the Danes win 3-2 and soar to the group summit. With only one win in the last eight matches, the pressure is on for Ukraine.
They will be looking at their last meeting with Finland for inspiration. Ukraine beat Finland 2-0 in their last meeting, but that was five years ago.
