World - FIFA Club World Cup
Prediction :
Both teams to score
Flamengo and Chelsea will put their perfect FIFA Club World Cup records on the line on Friday evening when they face off at Lincoln Financial Field. Mengao and the Blues are both on three points apiece following opening round wins, and are first and second in group D, respectively. Check out our match prediction below!
Flamengo are one of the most successful clubs in Brazil, having won the Brasileirao title on seven occasions, and they are now aiming to add a Club World Cup title to their name in their debut season in the competition. The West Londoners, on the other hand, are featuring in their third FIFA CWC campaign and reached the final in both previous appearances, including winning the title against another Brazilian top-flight team, Palmeiras, 2-1 in extra time in the 2021-22 edition.
The Premier League team enters this contest as massive favourites, but Filipe Luis' side is in excellent form this season and cannot be ruled out just yet. Let’s get into the key stats.

Giorgian de Arrascaeta has made a stunning start to the season in the Brazilian top-flight, racking up 13 goal contributions (9 goals, 4 assists) in just nine matches so far.
He opened his Club World Cup account against ES Tunis and is almost certain to partner Luiz Araujo, who netted Flamengo’s second goal against Tunis, in support of Pedro in this match.
The Brazilian side's most notable injury concern is that of midfielder Nicolas de la Cruz, who hasn't featured since the middle of May after suffering a knee injury. Flamengo will also be hoping to have ex-Juventus defender Alex Sandro, who has worked his way back into the Brazilian national team, ready for this match after he missed the opener.
Jorginho made his debut for Flamengo on Tuesday and is now set to face his former club!
Chelsea have two notable absentees for this competition in Wesley Fofana, who is recovering from hamstring surgery, while Mykhaylo Mudryk is still serving a provisional doping ban.
Moises Caicedo produced a solid display in the Blues' engine room on Tuesday but was seen limping off the pitch in the closing stages of the match after colliding with teammate Marc Cucurella. He is a minor doubt.
Former Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap made his debut for Chelsea against LAFC and provided the assist for their second goal of the game, which could earn him a start in this one.
Flamengo are enjoying an incredible season, currently leading the Brazilian Serie A, while having scored 24 goals in 11 games, seven more than any other team in the division. Menago also netted twice in their CWC opener on Tuesday, which will see them enter this match with bags of confidence.
However, Chelsea were equally dominant in their first match of the competition following an excellent run to the end of the Premier League season. Given these side's recent form, we are expecting a few goals in this one. Our Flamengo vs Chelsea prediction is both teams to score.
Over 2.5
Flamengo have scored two or more goals in five of their last seven matches across all competitions, while Chelsea have only failed to find the back of the net in one of their last 12 in all competitions.
