World - FIFA Club World Cup
Prediction :
Over 2.5
In a blockbuster clash between two European giants, PSG and Atletico Madrid start their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign in this Group B fixture. This match will be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Sunday, and our prediction is for Les Parisiens and Rojiblancos to dish out a high-scoring affair with over 2.5 goals our pick. Brazilian club Botafogo and MLS side Seattle Sounders FC complete the group from which two teams will advance to the knockout stages.
The concluded season has been exceptional for Luis Enrique and PSG, who won all four competitive trophies, including the coveted Champions League. The French club would be keen to stamp their authority on the Club World Cup stage too and a win over Atletico Madrid would be a statement. The Spanish side are also playing in their debut Club World Cup campaign and have already defeated PSG on the European scene once this season.
Is it time for PSG to exact revenge, or will Atletico once again prove to be their nemesis? Read further for our recommendations.

PSG will be without Ousmane Dembele with the French forward picking up a quad injury in France’s Nations League match against Spain. It's a tough blow considering the 28-year-old is the current frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or after racking up 33 goals and 13 assists in 49 appearances.
Bradley Barcola also had an injury turning up for the French national team but is expected to join the PSG camp. Enrique is likely to stick to his 4-3-3 combination with no major absentees elsewhere. Dembele’s absence could open the door for Goncalo Ramos or Barcola.
Desire Doue has two goals and three assists in his last two matches for PSG.
The youngster sparkled on the continental stage in the Champions League final and could once again be key for PSG. As for Atletico, there are no notable absences. Jan Oblak featured for Slovenia last week and has linked up with the Atletico squad.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone will be thinking about Argentine players in his squad, with as many as five featuring for their national side. Alexander Sorloth also featured for Norway and may have to settle for a berth on the bench.
The Spaniards usually play in a 4-4-2 formation, but Simeone is flexible enough to use 5-3-2, something which he used against PSG in the Champions League earlier this season. Either way, it would be Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez who will lead the line.
This is easily one of the standout clashes of the tournament, between two European giants. PSG are the newly crowned UEFA Champions League winners and perhaps in the best of their form, scoring goals for fun. Atletico Madrid may not have had a great season but ended the season with six wins out of the last nine matches. That included scoring four goals in three of their last four matches. This match has all the signs of being a high-scorer, and our PSG vs Atletico Madrid prediction is over 2.5.
PSG to win and both teams to score
Both teams are in cracking scoring form, which makes goals from both teams a good pick. To top it with a PSG win, looking at how they ended the season on a high, is a reasonably good choice. Atletico can’t be easily ruled out, especially as they won 2-1 in the Champions League competition earlier in the season. That gives PSG enough motivation to avenge the defeat with a win here.
